I don't like pressing buttons on the camera while the gimbal is live, let alone plugging in that cable. I would suggest reverting firmware if possible. I may have to unload GP studio as I have no need for it.Īs far as the workaround of plugging in the USB cable after hitting the shutter, no thank you. The HERO3 and HERO3+ were amazing devices, but these are now legacy cameras. And it's a pain, as every time I plug my camera in, GoPro Studio asks to update my firmware. The camera will turn on and off several times so wait until it is finished before touching the camera (usually about 5-10 minutes. Turn the camera on and the update should start automatically. Eject the card and then put it into your camera. Now knowing that live video will be lost too, there is no way I will do the update. Format your SD card and then place the Update folder (not Update.zip) onto your SD card. I like just plugging my camera in and dragging the files across. Since I have an H3+Black, I held off doing the firmware update. This may have only been true on the H3 models. I went through the Manual Update process, downloaded the UPDATE.zip for firmware and Wifi, unzipped, copied the UPDATE folder into the SD card. I have a secon hand Hero3+, but it was previously setup. Camera does not react to UPDATE folder either ROOT folder. So many GoPro users held off doing the firmware update like me. at 7:09 AM HERO3+ silver: Can't update or change Wifi. I should be more clear, to transfer, they would need to use the GoPro applications, and the camera would not come up as a file folder like it does prior to update. I could be wrong, but this may be coming up now as GoPro users were warned about losing the ability to USB transfer files to a computer after the update as well.
